Although the  IOC already decided in July 2007, that after the new status of the five Antillean islands, none of these islands will get their own Olympic Commitee, a small group on Curacao thinks different.

It is a fact that the population of Curacao, decided through a referendum, that they want Curacao to become an autonomous country, within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The Olympic Charter of the IOC states however that to get Olympic recognition, a country needs to be an independent State, recognized by the International Community (Art 31.1, Olympic Charter, in force as from 7 July 2007).

The IOC answered a letter of the Sport Federation of Curacao (CSF) with an email, by simply referring to their letter.
